Abstract :
Open zero-buffermulti-servergeneralqueueingnetworksoccurthroughoutanumberofphysical
systems inthesemi-processandprocessindustries.Inthispaper,weevaluatetheperformanceofthese
systems intermsofthroughputusingthegeneralizedexpansionmethod(GEM)andcompareour
results withsimulation.Secondly,weembedtheperformanceevaluationinamulti-objective
optimizationsetting.Thismulti-objectiveoptimizationapproachresultsintheParetoefficientcurves
showingthetrade-offbetweenthetotalnumberofserversusedandthethroughput.Experimentsfora
large numberofsettingsanddifferentnetworktopologiesarepresentedindetail.
