Abstract :
We considertheproblemofsequencingasetofjobsinasinglemachinetominimizethemaximumof the totalweightedcompletiontimeofthejobsoveranumberofscenarios,eachcorrespondingtoaset of jobprocessingtimes.Wegivealargefamilyofinequalitiesthatarevalidfortheconvexhulloftheset of feasibleschedules.Wethenpresentcomputationalexperienceinwhichsomeoftheinequalitiesare added totheoriginalformulation.Wedemonstratethroughthecomputationalresultsthattheir additiontotheformulationcansubstantiallyimprove,amongotherthings,thetimerequiredtosolve difficultinstancesoftheproblemthroughbranch-and-cut.
