Abstract :
This paperpresentsaparallelapproachforsolvingtheVehicleRoutingProblemwithSimultaneous
PickupandDelivery(VRPSPD).Theparallelalgorithmisembeddedwithamulti-startheuristicwhich
consistsofavariableneighborhooddescentprocedure,witharandomneighborhoodordering(RVND),
integratedinaniteratedlocalsearch(ILS)framework.Theexperimentswereperformedinacluster
with amulti-corearchitectureusingupto256cores.Theresultsobtainedonthebenchmarkproblems,
availableintheliterature,showthattheproposedalgorithmnotonlyimprovedseveraloftheknown
solutions,butalsopresentedaverysatisfyingscalability.
