Abstract :
We examineageneralizedvendorselectionproblemofamulti-storefirmwherethegoalisthe
simultaneousdeterminationof(i)thesetofvendorsthefirmshouldworkwithand(ii)howmucheach
store shouldorderfromtheselectedvendors.Inadditiontothetypicalcostsassociatedwithvendor
selectionanddeliverybetweenthevendorsandtheirassignedstores,weexplicitlyconsiderthe
inventory-relatedcostsanddecisionsofthestores.Weemphasizetherelationshipbetweenfacility
location applicationsandtheproblemathand,andweproposean integrated vendor selectionand
inventoryoptimizationmodel.Also,arguingthatourmodelcreatesavenueforpreciseincorporationof
realisticcapacityconstraints,wemodelthroughputanddispatchcapacities,explicitly.Themodelisa
challengingmixedintegernonlinearprogramforwhichweproposeanefficientsolutionapproachthat
relies onGeneralizedBendersDecomposition(GBD).
