Abstract :
In thispaperweintroduceagoalprogrammingformulationforthemulti-groupclassificationproblem.
Althoughagreatnumberofmathematicalprogrammingmodelsfortwo-groupclassificationproblems
have beenproposedintheliterature,therearefewmathematicalprogrammingmodelsformulti-group
classificationproblems.Newlyproposedmulti-groupmathematicalprogrammingmodeliscompared
with otherconventionalmulti-groupmethodsbyusingdifferentrealdatasetstakenfromtheliterature
and simulationdata.Acomparativeanalysisontherealdatasetsandsimulationdatashowsthatour
goal programmingformulationmaysuggestefficientalternativetotraditionalstatisticalmethodsand
mathematicalprogrammingformulationsforthemulti-groupclassificationproblem.
