Abstract :
In thispaperwediscussthemulti-facilitylocationproblemonnetworkswithpositiveandnegative
weights.Asthefinitedominatingsetforthesinglefacilityproblemdoesnotcarryovertothemulti-
facilityproblem,wederiveanewfinitedominatingset.Tosolvetheproblem,wepresentastraight-
forwardalgorithm.Moreover,fortheproblemwithjusttwonewfacilities,weshowhowtoobtaina
more efficientsolutionprocedurebyusingplanararrangements.Wepresentcomputationalresultsto
underlinetheefficiencyoftheimprovedalgorithmandtotestsomeapproximationswhicharebasedon
a reducedcandidateset.
