Abstract :
This paperconsidersasingle-machineproblemwiththesum-of-processingtimebasedlearningeffect and releasetimes.Theobjectiveistominimizethetotalweightedcompletiontimes.First,abranch-and- boundalgorithmincorporatingwithseveraldominancepropertiesandtwolowerboundsaredeveloped for theoptimalsolution.Thenageneticheuristic-basedalgorithmisproposedforanear-optimalsolution. Finally,acomputationalexperimentisconductedtoevaluatetheperformancesoftheproposed algorithms.Theresultsshowthatthebranch-and-boundalgorithmcansolveinstancesupto15jobs, and theaverageerrorpercentageofthegeneticheuristicalgorithmislessthan0.105%.
