Abstract :
In thisstudy,aTchebycheffutilityfunctionbasedapproachisproposedformultiplecriteriasorting
problemsinordertoclassifyalternativesintoorderedcategories,suchasA,B,C,etc.Sincethe
Tchebychefffunctionhastheabilitytoreachefficientalternativeslocatedeveninthenon-convexpart
of theefficientfrontier,itisusedintheproposedsortingapproachtopreventsuchalternativesbeing
disadvantages.IfthepreferencesoftheDMarenotexactlyknown,eachalternativeselectsitsown
favorableweightsforaweightedTchebycheffdistancefunction.Then,eachalternativeiscompared
with thereferencealternativesofaclasstocomputeitsstrengthoverthem.Theaveragestrengthsare
later usedtocategorizethealternatives.Theexperimentalanalysisresultsontheperformanceofthe
algorithmarepresented.
