Abstract :
A semilinear Kirchhoff plate with a nonlinear dissipation acting via moments
only is considered. It is shown that the plate is uniformly stabilizable with uniform
energy decay rates with respect to the parameter g )0 representing rotational
forces assumed small.. Moreover, it is shown that the solutions of the Kirchhoff
plate converge to solutions of the semilinear Euler]Bernoulli plate, when gª0,
which is also uniformly stable in finite energy norm.
