On the General Variational Inequality

In this paper, we investigate the general variational inequality which extends the classical variational inequality in finite dimensional spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of this problem are obtained. Some existence results are derived using the fixed point theory. Uniqueness of the solution is also discussed. Application of these existence results to the implicit complementarity problem is given.
