Directed Distances with Derivatives

Minimum distance approaches for the reconstruction of real functions from a finite number of linear functional values are discussed. In contrast to previous works, the distance is allowed to depend on the derivatives of the functions in question. Conditions on such distances which satisfy the directed orthogonality principle are given.
