Sharpening Cauchy′s Inequality

Upper bounds for the inner product of two vectors are given in terms of the components of the vectors. The resulting inequalities are sharper than Cauchy′s inequality, i.e., generally better and never worse. The various upper bounds are ordered in a sequence of increasing sharpness. A generalization to integrals is also given.
