Abstract :
Noncondensablegasesthatcomefromthecontainmentandtheinteractionofcladdingandsteamduringasevereaccidentdeteriorateapassivecontainmentcoolingsystemʹsperformancebydegradingtheheattransfercapabilitiesofthecondensersinpassivecontainmentcoolingsystems.Thisworkcontributestotheareaofmodelingcondensationheattransferwithnoncondensablegasesinintegralfacilities.Previouslyexistingcorrelationsandmodelsareforthethrough-flowofthemixtureofsteamandthenoncondensablegasesandthismaynotbeapplicabletopassivecontainmentcoolingsystemswherethereisnoclearpassageforthesteamtoescape.Thisworkpresentsacondensationheattransfermodelforthedownwardcocurrentflowofasteam/airmixturethroughacondensertube,takingintoaccounttheatypicalcharacteristicsofthepassivecontainmentcoolingsystem.Anempiricalmodelisdevelopedthatdependsontheinletconditions,includingthemixtureReynoldsnumberandnoncondensablegasconcentration.
