Abstract :
Amechanisticmodelwhichconsidersthemechanicalnon-equilibriumisdescribedfortwo-phasechokingflow.Thechokingmassfluxisobtainedfromthemomentumequationwiththedefinitionofchoking.Thekeyparameterforthemechanicalnon-equilibriumisaslipratio.Thedependentparametersfortheslipratioareidentified.Inthisresearch,theslipratiowhichisdefinedinthedriftfluxmodelisusedtoidentifytheimpactparametersontheslipratio.Becausetheslipratiointhedriftfluxmodelisrelatedtothedistributionparameteranddriftvelocity,theadequatecorrelationsdependingontheflowregimeareintroducedinthisstudy.Inthismechanisticmodelingapproach,thechokingmassflowrateisexpressedbythefunctionofpressure,qualityandslipratio.Thedevelopedmodelisevaluatedbycomparingwiththeair–waterexperimentaldatatoeliminatethethermaleffect.Thecomparisonofpredictedchokingmodelformechanicalnon-equilibriumwithotherexperimentaldatainhighqualityregion(upto80%)isquitereasonablewithasmallerror.
