    ThepapercoversthecapabilitiesofPARAMETR-Mfacilityfromthepointofviewofsevereaccidentcodeverification.AdescriptionofPARAMETR-Mfacility,itsmaindesignfeaturesincludingtheimprovementsmadetoimplementtestswithrodbundlesuperheatingandmeltingispresented.TheresultsofcomputationsmadebyRATEG/SVECHA/HEFEST(RATEG)[RATEG/SVECHA/HEFESTSevereAccidentCode,2002.Descriptionofapplication.Userʹsmanual.Parts1,2.SPbAEP]andRELAP/SCDAPSIMMOD3.2(RELAP)[Allison,C.M.,Wagner,R.J.,2001.RELAP/SCDAPSIM/MOD3.2SupplementalInputManual,InnovativeSystemsSoftware,LLC,April]severeaccidentcodesarediscussedandcomparedwithPARAMETR-Mtestdata. Onthebasisofexperimentaldataofrodbundleheatingupto1600Kandsubsequenttopfloodingtwomainconclusionsweremade: 1. Apossibilitytoquenchtherodbundlefromtopatsuchtemperaturewascorroborated. 2. ThecapabilityofRATEGandRELAPcodestosimulatethemainphysicalphenomenaofthetest(zirconiumoxidation,temperaturebehaviour,bundletopflooding)wasverified.
