Abstract :
Thepaperisconcernedwithacoupledchemo-mechanicalmodeldescribingtheinteractionbetweenthecalciumleachingandthemechanicaldamageinconcretematerials.Ontheonehand,thephenomenologicalchemistryisdescribedbythenowadayswell-knownsimplifiedcalciumleachingapproach.Itisbasedonthedissolution–diffusionprocesstogetherwiththechemicalequilibriumrelatingthecalciumconcentrationofthesolidʹsskeletonandthecalciumintheporesolution.Forconcrete,ahomogenizationapproachusingasymptoticexpansionsisusedtotakeintoaccounttheinfluenceofthepresenceoftheaggregatesleadingtoanequivalenthomogeneousmedium.Ontheotherhand,thecontinuumdamagemechanicsisusedtodescribethemechanicaldegradationofconcrete.Themodellingaccountsforthefactthatconcretebecomesmoreandmoreductileastheleachingprocessgrows.Themodelalsopredictstheinelasticirreversibledeformationasdamageevolves.Thegrowthofinelasticstrainsobservedduringthemechanicaltestsisdescribedbymeansofanelastoplastic-likemodel.Thecouplednonlinearproblemathandisaddressedwithinthecontextofthefiniteelementmethod.Andfinally,numericalsimulationsarecomparedwiththeexperimentalresultsoffirstpartofthiswork.
