Abstract
“Themodeltestonmulti-axesloadingonRCshearwalls”hadbeencarriedoutasforthe10-yearprojectaimingatcomprehensionoftheearthquakeresponsebehaviorofthree-dimensional(3D)reinforcedconcrete(RC)shearwallsunderthe3Dofmulti-axesearthquakeloadingcondition.Themotivationoftheprojectbuilding-upisthatthecurrentseismicdesignofnuclearpowerplantbuildingiscarriedoutbyapplyingone-dimensional(1D)dynamicearthquakeloadtoananalyticalbuildingmodelineachdirectionindependentlywhereasactualearthquakejoltsthebuildinginthethreedirectionssimultaneously.Therefore,therewereopinionsrequestingsometestingconfirmwhetherornotthecurrentseismicdesignmethodologyisreliablefortheinputmotionsexceedingthedesignearthquakegroundmotionmoreoverfortheinputmotionsofthe3D.Theprojecthadcompletedwithvariousvaluableoutcomesthatcanreplytotheopinions.Moreover,theoutcomeswillplayanimportantroleinevaluatingseismicmarginsofimportantstructuresinanuclearpowerplant.Inthispaper,basedonthepublisheddocumentsrelatingtothistestproject,theauthordescribesareviewofthewholetestingandsummarizesthemajoroutcomesextractedbythetestproject.
