Abstract
ThegeneralgoalofsafetymanagementinNuclearPowerPlants(NPPs)istomakerequirementsandactivitiesmoreriskeffectiveandlesscostly.Thetechnicalspecificationandmaintenance(TS&M)activitiesinaplantareassociatedwithcontrollingriskorwithsatisfyingrequirements,andarecandidatestobeevaluatedfortheirresourceeffectivenessinrisk-informedapplications.Accordingly,therisk-basedanalysisoftechnicalspecification(RBTS)isbeingconsideredinevaluatingcurrentTS.Themulti-objectiveoptimizationoftheTS&MrequirementsofaNPPbasedonriskandcost,givesthepareto-optimalsolutions,fromwhichtheutilitycanpickitsdecisionvariablessuitingitsinterest.Inthispaper,amulti-objectiveevolutionaryalgorithmtechniquehasbeenusedtomakeatrade-offbetweenriskandcostbothatthesystemlevelandattheplantlevelforlossofcoolantaccident(LOCA)andmainsteamlinebreak(MSLB)asinitiatingevents.
