Cadmium can accumulate in the human body, so WHO hast set permitted levels for weekly consumption of cadmium containing foods (PTWI). Rice is one of the staple foods all over the world. Daily consumption of rice cultivated in soils with high levels of cadmium can impose serious hazards for humans.
