Abstract :
ABSTRACT:This study was conducted based on factorial experiment with a complete randomized design with four replications during 150 day cold storage. In this study effectsof four different level of SO2 generating pads (one on top, 75% on top and half on top of the packaged grapes and without sulfur pad) that composed of 1gr kg¹ sodium metabisulfite combined with two type of polyethylene bags (perforated and imperforated) and effects of Ammi (CarumCopticum) essential oil (300 mg L-1 and 600 mg L-1) on controlling fungal decay and qualitative traits ofGrapevine (Vitisvinifera) cv. Rashawere evaluated throughout the cold storage. Result showed that sulfur pad treatment significantly decreased weight losses (%), bleaching, berry shriving and decay rate (%) but Ammi essential oil increased weight losses (%) and improved flavor and taste of fruit. Generally, treatment with half of the packaged sulfur padwith imperforatedpolyethylene bags caused least weight losses (%) anddecay rate (%)andincreasedstorage life and taste ofRasha fruit in cold storage. Hence to increasing the postharvest life of Rasha grape in cold storage use of half on top of the packaged sulfur padwith imperforatedpolyethylene bags treatment recommend.
