Abstract :
ABSTRACT: This study examines the agriculture sector efficiency in Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) countries by means of Stochastic Frontier Analyses (SFA). The results showed that efficiency ranges between 41 percent in Egypt and 87 percent in Bahrain. The mean efficiency levels are about 0.70 for agriculture sector over the period 1995-2008, that meaning about 30 percent of total cost can be saved if agriculture sectors were operating.
