Abstract :
This paper is a survey which was conducted to identify and study general health and job
burnout of the hospital personnel and relationship between them. Statistical population includes
all personnel of Karaj city hospitals in 2011 and sample size was 100 people who were selected
using random sampling method. Research instruments included MSF Questionnaire and
General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and the findings obtained from it showed that job burnout
of the hospital personnel is medium but it is higher than other indices in variables of frequency
and intensity of depersonalization. General health, physical, anxiety, social function and
depression variables were measured which indicated its medium level except for variable of
depression. Study of difference between score of general health based on gender indicated little
difference that is the women have better general health than men. Score of general heath based
on employment status indicated difference between permanent personnel and contractual
personnel so that the permanent personnel had better general health than the permanent
personnel. Finally, there was significant relationship between two variables of job burnout and
general health but correlation between two variables was not high.
