Abstract :
We present a discontinuous Galerkin matrix-free formulation for the compressible Navier–Stokes equations and the viscous MHD equations based on spectral/hp hybrid element discretization. We first review the formulation and subsequently present convergence results for an Euler flow, as well as simulation results. The simulation results presented are flow past a NACA 0012 airfoil at Re=10,000 including some preliminary 3D simulations, and a 2D MHD flow – the so-called Orszag–Tang vortex problem.
