Stratified rotating flow over complex terrain Original Research Article

We present a full 3-dimensional time dependent curvilinear ocean model in boundary-fitted grids. The model solves the primitive non-linear Navier–Stokes equations under the Boussinesq approximation in a rotating system. Three-dimensional simulations are made for a stratified flow over two different topographic configurations. The results for the velocity and density fields are presented and discussed.
