Continuous approximation with embedded Runge-Kutta-Nyström methods Original Research Article

The criteria to be satisfied by ‘dense’ formulae associated with Runge-Kutta-Nyström embedded pairs are considered. From a criterion based on global error considerations, new continuous formulae are derived and tested for some well known efficient pairs.
