Abstract
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the efficient numerical calculation of the ground states in different spin sectors of the UqSU(2) symmetric spin-View the MathML source Heisenberg quantum chain with deformation parameter View the MathML source.
For such spin chains, quantum group symmetry makes it possible to restrict the Hilbert space and give a path representation for the relevant states. To handle the path space we propose a compact binary representation which allows to express all the path manipulations in terms of fast bitwise operations.
We check the method by comparing the Finite Size Scaling of the levels with the analytical predictions, thus supporting a long standing conjecture, usually accepted but still unproven.
The numerical strategy described in the paper can also be extended to the numerical calculation of UqSU(2) invariant correlation functions.
