Abstract :
The main purpose of this research is to explanation of the effects of parent psychoeducational program along medication compared to medication alone on the stress decrement. of the mothers of adolescents suffering from bipolar disorder . Method: The participants in this study were 30 mothers of children with bipolar disorder from two hospitals in Tehran, who were selected through Convenience Sampling method. The participants were randomly divided into two groups: combined treatment (parent psychoeducation program and medication) and medication alone. Each group included 15 subjects. They were evaluated by Parenting Stress Questionnaires. For data analysis, independent t-test was used. Results:The total scores of Parenting Stress differences and its subscales were also statistically significant between two groups. Conclusion: The results of study indicate that combined treatment compared to mere medical treatment leads to a significant change in mothersʹ stress.
