Visualization of a general family of growth functions and probability distributions – The Growth-curve Explorer

A variety of growth-curve functions are used in many areas of environmental science. Closely related probability distributions are useful in simulation modelling. A model that includes many of these functions and distributions as special cases is discussed, and an interactive Java applet that facilitates the visual exploration of the various curve characteristics and interrelationships is presented.
