Abstract :
Following a brief review of the Routh array and a few of its salient properties, the inverse array generating rule is used to produce a family of polynomials--referred to as Pascal-Routh polynomials--for which the first column of the Routh array is the corresponding row from the Pascal triangle of binomial coefficients. A preliminary exploration, illustrated by a design example, is made of the performance of feedback systems with Pascal-Routh characteristic polynomials.
