Abstract :
Industrialization extremely demands to the uplift of nation’s economy. However, it causes severe Environmental Pollution due to the generated waste materials. Copper Tailings is one of the waste byproduct from copper industries. Expansive soils and sandy soils are a worldwide problem that creates challenges for Civil Engineers. They are considered as potential natural hazard, which can cause extensive damage to structures if not adequately treated. This study is done by stabilizing locally available sandy soil and clayey soil with Copper tailing, to estimate the maximum dry density, so as to use this waste material as sustainable geo material for construction of embankment/fill material or sub grade layer of pavement. It is obtained that the combination of 70% Clay with 30% Copper tailings to 30% clay with 70% copper tailings is most satisfactory combination to get good soil stabilization
