Abstract :
The treatment of 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-1,5-anhydro-d-arabino-hex-1-enitol with azidotrimethylsilane by the aid of a catalytic amount of Yb(OTf)3 afforded 2,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-2,3-dideoxy-α-d-erythro-hex-2-enopyranosyl azide in high yield.
