Abstract :
Standard Eucheuma denticulatum ι-carrageenan was degraded with the Alteromonas fortis ι-carrageenase. The most abundant products, the neo-ι-carratetraose and neo-ι-carrahexaose were purified by permeation gel chromatography, and their corresponding 1H and 13C NMR spectra were fully assigned.
