Effects of contact geometry in wide Hall bars

We determine numerically the current distribution in a rectangular Hall bar of arbitrary aspect ratio embedded in an infinite strip, without using a common approximation such as perfectly conducting leads or a long sample. For a short sample with large enough difference between sample and contact Hall voltages, closed current loops occur.
