Abstract :
Continuous wave CO2 laser-photosensitized (SF6) decomposition of thiophene yields gaseous CS2, methane, C2 hydrocarbons and a solid sulfur-containing deposit which is characterised by FTIR, SEM and XPS techniques and assumed to be a polymer formed by complex radical reactions.
