Abstract :
A novel multi-electrode emitter system of the edge-type is proposed. A fine honeycomb structure allows for a large density of emitting units. Such structure may be used as the electron source in e-beam devices. Due to geometry of the elementary structure the impinging ions do not damage the emitting edges.
