Abstract :
The angular and velocity distributions of the desorbing product CO2 were measured in the CO oxidation on Pt(113) = (s)2(111) × (001) by means of angle-resolved thermal desorption combined with cross-correlation time of flight techniques. The CO2 desorption is sharply collimated either along the (001) step normal or the (111) terrace normal depending on the reactant coverage. The translational temperature of CO2 desorbing in these specific directions reveals a significant variation ranging from 1350 to 1120 K with the coverages.
