Abstract
A new type of multilayer interference systems, a so-called two-scaled multilayer polymer–Ge–LiF systems, is proposed.
A finely-scaled period is produced by vacuum deposited alternating Ge and LiF layers. A larger-scaled period is produced by
repeating the polymer layers and Ge–LiF systems as a whole. Such a superlattice structure allows a simultaneous formation
of a spectral transmission in the far IR range and creation of supplementary compared to ordinary systems.zones of high
reflection in a short wavelength background range. In addition, non-symmetrical polymer–Ge–LiF systems and systems with
an unequal thickness parameter were researched for suppression zones widening. It was found that the suppression effect in
short and middle IR ranges may be created by changing the finely-scaled-layer construction parameters, while the effective
optical parameters of the larger-scaled structure remain unchanged, and a high transmission is retained in a far IR range.
