Abstract
Flat, electrically conducting models of Mo and CoMo sulfides on SiO2 and Al2O3 have been very successful in
elucidating the sulfidation chemistry of the oxidic catalyst precursors. In this paper, we show that the model approach
enables industrially relevant preparation studies of alumina-supported CoMoS systems with catalytic turnover and selectivity
similar to that of industrial HDS catalysts. q1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved
