Benign tumors of the liver have traditionally been considered an rare entity. Benign liver tumors are relatively common but usually subclinical. Advances in diagnostic tecnology of ten used to aid in the diagnosis of unrelated intrabdominal pathology, have increased awareness and recognion of these tumors. Finally many liver tumors are discovered incidentally by ultra sound or other scanding techniques or at the time of elective celiotomy. Others are discovered because of hepatomegaly, right upper quadrant discomfort or intraperitoneal hemorrhage.
