This research is like a spot of light that has been dropped upon a number of controversial issues addressed by Ibn Umm Qasim al-Muradi in his explanatory commentary of Ibn Malik’s “Alfiyah”, what he outweighs and his criticism. The research shows that the motivation of those who came later to examine contentious issues that were researched by those who came earlier … that the intention was not only to complete a deficiency, correct a deviation, increase benefits or indicate an error! Rather, the main motive was for educational purposes. That is as Ibn Malik explained his “Alfiyah” in a detailed manner, as did his son. Many of them esteemed Shaykh al-Muradi Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi. Even though Al-Muradi praised the commentaries which he examined, he did not suffice with them, but rather he preferred to increase upon those explanatory commentaries, so he wrote his book “Tawdeeh ul-Maqaasid Wa-l-Masaalik” (Clarifying the Purposes and Pathways). Did he then bring something new which the previous commentaries failed to explain? an‎d did he add, through his explanation, something that makes a new explanation worthy? It is apparent that the tendency to facilitate or simplify the grammar is what prompted his explanation. That is apparent from his compositions which he issued by his saying: “Alert”, “Two Alert”, “Alerts”. It includes what he has accumulated in terms of jokes and the benefits that appeared to him with the maturing of time during his occupation with the teaching of “Al-Alfiyah” (Of Ibn Maalik).
