With the continuous increase in urban population and the requirements of modern urban life, transportation systems become progressively unable to achieve an appropriate level of service in urban areas. In order to achieve the main objective of this study which is represented in the analysis of the situation and the performance of the transport system in the city of Amman, the study applied inductive and descriptive analytical quantitative approach, where the study found multiple results, including: the Systems urban transport in the city of Amman is almost consistent with theories of Systems of urban transport, but the efficiency and effectiveness indicators were very low. Therefore, the study recommends the necessity of redistributing the gains of development and creating new development poles in areas with less density and urbanization
