حال الواقدي والمآخذ عليه في ضوء اقوال النقاد فيه

This paper aims to study the status of Al-Waqidi, the criticisms of the scholars of his personality and the points which the scholars started from. It has shown that the difference in the field of specialization has a huge influence on the criticism of the scholars of hadith in criticizing Al-Waqidi. It is concluded that implementing the rules of criticism on Al-waqidi has affected his position and caused to lose the reliability of his narrations which he collected from the books and the oral narration he learned from his shuyukh. In this paper I discussed the criticisms on Al-waqidi and tried to find his excuses when it is appropriate and accepted relying on scientific evidence and quotations of the opinions of prominent scholars. This has clarified the image of this great scholar and showed his role in writing history especially the biography of the Prophet PBUH
