This research includes a critical analysis of the Muffassir: Muhammad Izzat Darwazah opinions on the content and the objectives of the Quranic stories. Mr. Drawazah, first, stated his method in approaching the narrative Quranic verses and the way he handles them; then he illustrated the objectives behind using the Quranic narrative verses, in addition he reiterated the idea that the Quranic narratives were not alien to the pre- Islamic Arabs, on the contrary, he said the style was well Known to them, because it included, mythical narration's and pieces of knowledge known to pre- Islamic Arabs. My research explains the danger behind adopting such a stand. The researcher believes that the orientalists and the missionaries took advantage of this position to spread skepticism on the Quranic text.
