This paper investigates the characteristics and methods of advisers of governors and rulers in the Qur’an with reference to the story of the believer of the family of Faro in Surat Ghafir as a model. The study reveals that the advisers’ characteristics are: deep and firm faith, knowledge, wisdom, and good manners. The study also highlights the legal methods, which should be followed by advisers of governors and rulers. At the top of the list of these methods comes the gradual teaching, making connection between reality of nation and its history on the one hand and previous experiences on the other. Other methods include encouragement and warning, and being objective in both presentation and debate. Keywords: advice, governors and rules, the believer of the family of Faro.
