Prayer in the Qur’an: a semantic-objective study

This paper tackles the subject of prayer in the Qur'an. The article examines semantically and thematically the word prayer and its derivatives mentioned in the Qur'an to show how the Qur'an approaches the subject of prayer and to show the instruction of the Qur'an with regard to prayer. The article is divided into introduction, three sections and a conclusion. The research explores the semantic of the word prayer in language, terminology, and use. It also deals with the approach of the Qur'an concerning calling and encouragement for prayer in five subsections. Finally it presents the approach of the Qur'an regarding warning of abandoning or neglecting prayer in three subsections.
