Khalil Metran is a figure in the Arab literary and critical field; hence there are various factors that have contributed in creating the literary and critical world of the poet. Some are related to his upbringing and his environmental and personal attributes; others are related to his education; Arabic and foreign generally and French particularly in addition to his work in press, theatre, and translation. These attributes are reflected on Metran's personality because he had inherited from his predecessors some features such as being proud of his Arabism and a fighter to colonialism but a lover to freedom and poetry.
