Preparation and Characterizatio11 ofSuperconducting Y1Ba2.xCdxCu307_0 (.r: =o.J a11d 0.2)by sol- gel Technique

The samples of Y1Ba1.9Cd0.1Cu307.J and Y1Ba18Cd0.1Cu307.J were prepared by Sol-gel technique from the stoichiometric amounts of Ba(CH3C00h , Cd(CH3COO), Y(N03h and Cu(CH3C00h were weighted and dissolved in to a certain amount of glacial acetic acid at pH 5.5. Mixed well then heated to dryness with continues stirring . The mixture was ground in agat.ated mortar for one hour. This mixture powder was calcined in air at 950 C for 10 hours and palletized . The pellets were heated to 950 C0 for about 87 hours and cooled to room temperature. The onset critical temperature for each system was determined and it was found l 00 l 0 l K respectively . The samples were characterized by X- ray diffraction using CuKa radiation
