A Comparison between RHIS Method and Edge Detection by Applying the Face Detection Application in Color Image

This research uses Region Growing Algorithm based on the color information segment the color image, the Segmented method is “Region Segmentation using HIS color space” (RHIS) applied on the face detection and facial feature extraction application, in this application the feature-based approach explained above is selected. All of these steps are included in this work, the algorithms and methods processing are needed to obtain a better-input data for facial feature segmentation and extraction explained in this paper. To illustrate the performance of the RHIS system in the Facial Feature Extraction application, the traditional segmentation technique that is edge detection is used, so Sobel Operator has been implemented on a set of the color images with human face.
