Synthesis of New 2,5-Disubstituted 1,3,4-Thiadiazole Derivatives and it s Resins

Derivatives have been prepared containing (1,3,4-thiadiazole) fused with triazole system starting from (2-amino-5mercapto- 1,3,4- thiadiazole )(1) which prepared from thiosemicarba zide and (CS2 ) in the presence of anhydrouse Na2Co3. The Compound 2,4-diamino-[1,2,4]- triazole (2-2) [3,4-b]- 1,3,4-thiadiazole (2) which prepared from reactions compound (1) with thiosemicarbazide (2) and then convert into Schiff base (3) by refluxing with p-hydroxy benzaldehyde. Schiff base (3) treated with formaldehyde in the presence of NaOH afforded the corresponding methylolic phenolic resin (4) which upon treating with methanol or butanol or Allylalcohol in the presence of conc. H2SO4 gave etheric resins (5,7) respectively. The epoxy resins (8,10) were prepared from the corresponding methylolic and etheric resins with eipychlorohydrine in the presence of NaOH. Finally reaction of appropriate epoxy resin (8,10) with morpholine leads to ring open giving resin with unstitched ring(11).
