    Sleep is a vital and a basic activity of human life and it is a physiological need forhuman body. Sleep quality is directly influenced by the comfort conditions of sleepenvironment. The purpose of this research is to define the role of textile materialsand weave structure used in quilted fabrics to achieve the best functionalperformance from the human body.Thermal transmittance, thermal conductivity, thermal resistance, thickness, tensilestrength, wicking and air permeability properties of fabrics were analyzed andstatistically evaluated.Comfort is a major concept in the determination of overall life quality as well assleep quality of a resting person. Therefore academic studies about thermal comfortprediction of sleep environment and bed surface fabrics are of great importance.This study investigates conventional mattress ticking fabrics in terms of comfortparameters and defines the important fabric properties on comfort parameters.The use of mattresses varies widely both in common use in the homes of varioussizes , hotels, care homes or (nursing homes) and hospitals, which requires adifferent set of properties, depending on the functionality of each of them as hedoes not hide the importance of using medical mattresses because of theirtherapeutic benefits.
